Mid year reflections

Preparing my report for our AGM tonight has given me plenty of opportunity to reflect on what has been a huge and significant year. At some stage we sat down and filled a page with the names of visitors who have made a contribution to our plans for this place. So much work, so much progress, and soon to have so much usefulness to God’s work.

And lately, the same handful of helpers visiting day after day. Coming after work, staying late, putting in endless hours of renovating, doors, painting; even just the slog of prepping these gnarled old concrete walls for painting. I can’t imagine the bill if we paid for that time. So satisfying, and exciting to think that the rooms they’ve revitalised will be occupied by students next week.

The attached photo shows a former linen cupboard and store room that were right at the upper limits of the skankometer, now unrecognisable. Huge thanks to all our visitors and volunteers.
